This is the Portfolio / CV of Pete Randall.

I'm a 23 year old web developer with an eye for pixel perfection. I've got over two and a half years commercial experience and a lifetime of passion for computers and the web.

Employment

Developer (Preloaded)

I'm currently a full-time front and backend developer, I have strong understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript (jQuery/YUI), Python (including the Django framework). I'm also comfortable using version control solutions such as Git and SVN.

June 2009 — Present (1 year 1 month)

Developer (Freelance)

I undertook a few freelance projects such as an MTV MySpace and agency website build whilst in my final year of university.

September 2008 — June 2009 (9 months)

Junior Developer Internship (Preloaded)

This was my first job in the industry, starting with basic HTML emails and site updates. By the end of the 15 months I was developing full sites on my own such as Banana Republic.

June 2007 — August 2008 (1 year 3 months)

Cycling and snowboarding are some of my favourite things when I'm not knee deep in code (or injured!). I also listen to lots of music, keep a blog, and usually talk nonsense on Twitter.

Examples of latest work

GAP and Banana Republic (Preloaded)

After building Banana Republic on my internship I was tasked with building the sister site for GAP. This gave me the chance to re-factor the code from the initial build and tidy up mistake from the first time round. These sites now have cleaner, better organised templates and a rigid deployment process to both staging and production environments.

PictureThis (Preloaded)

My first major project at Preloaded, I took on the majority of the frontend build. This project ran in conjunction with a broadcast from Channel 4's Picture This TV show, but has remained a strong online community for photographers.

Education

First Class Honours

University of Plymouth (2005 — 2009)

Awarded prize for "Best dissertation in the year", for my web application BugZapp (Currently in Phase 2 development). You can see how it was developed here in my dissertation document and appendices.
